Band Bio: Shuga Kain is rock and roll, to the point and beyond. In early 2004, friends and musicians from very diverse musical origins began a new and unique collaboration.
Sal brought his metal edge and incredible song writing ability. His experience in the local music scene and relentless determination, coupled with his undying need to "rock out", can be considered the starting point for the band.
Derk came in with solid skills and the ability to play "anything." His enthusiasm and "team player" attitude have been invaluable to the band.
Michelle offered up unmatched vocal range and inviting lyrics. By nature a very soulful vocalist and lyricist, she has empowered the band with a true "voice."
Miles brought the melodic nature and unique lead style. Also a songwriter, his experience in varied musical genres has been a unifying force for the band.
Free, originally a lead guitarist, came in to hold down the bass slot. With years of experience and knowledge of the "strings", he too brings melodic structure and dynamics that are a rarity in the realm of hard rock bass.
What at first seemed an unlikely fusion of rock/metal/blues, has evolved into an incredibly diverse, yet focused hard rock group. Heavy grooves and dynamic sounds are the foundation upon which Shuga Kain has built a name for themselves. Killer guitars, powerful vocals, solid drums and a rolling bass line draw your attention and keep you wanting more.
Synergy, by definition, is a combined outcome which is greater than the total sum of it's individual parts. This can be said to describe Shuga Kain. With their unforgettable sound, lyrics, songwriting and unique mix of styles, Shuga Kain is a band that will move forward and not be forgotten.
